In the government appeal urging local decentralization, the special committee strongly urged the government and the National Assembly to establish a cooperative relationship rather than a vertical one between the central and local governments, including a decentralized constitutional amendment, in order to improve the diversified quality of life of local residents and strengthen national competitiveness through decentralization of affairs, finance, and organization.
Subsequently, following the full implementation of the autonomous police system in July, the committee received a report from the executive branch on the progress of major autonomous police affairs, and urged them to do their best to establish the Gyeongnam-type autonomous police system that prioritizes the residents in the inaugural year of the autonomous police launch.
