Jinju-si Selected for 2022 Traditional Market Facility Modernization Project Competition
Starting with Budget Secured for 'Nongae Market Arcade Installation Project'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 21st that the ‘Nongae Market Arcade Installation Project’ was finally selected in the ‘2022 Traditional Market Facility Modernization Project’ contest hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do, securing 456 million KRW in provincial funding.
The Nongae Market Arcade Installation Project, selected in this contest, involves installing a new arcade measuring 45m in length and 13m in height, connected to the existing arcade. The project also includes signboard maintenance and floor replacement, with a total project cost of 960 million KRW, including both provincial and city funds, aimed at improving the aging traditional market environment.
The arcade installation section is from the Nongae Market public parking lot to the east entrance of Nongae Market, a key area with concentrated foot traffic of market users. Upon completion, customers will be able to shop without getting wet during rainy weather, enhancing convenience for market visitors.
