Nepa and Eizenbuck Donate Sales Revenue to Save Endangered Alpine Conifers
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Outdoor company NEPA announced on the 21st that it will donate a portion of the home shopping sales revenue from its Izenbuck brand to the project "Saving endangered high-altitude conifers such as Kusan Pine."
NEPA has decided to actively participate in protecting Korea's endangered high-altitude conifers, including Kusan Pine, in collaboration with the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Agency under the Korea Forest Service. Kusan Pine, commonly known as the "Christmas tree," was first discovered by British botanist Ernest Henry Wilson during his exploration of Jeju Island. Its main habitats include Hallasan, Jirisan, and Deogyusan, but due to global warming, it is facing the threat of dieback and has been designated as an endangered species since 2013 for protection.
NEPA plans to support various conservation projects to prevent the population decline and foster successor forests of high-altitude conifers designated as internationally endangered species, including Kusan Pine.
Home shopping sales of the Izenbuck brand will continue through the end of the year in collaboration between NEPA and Cowell Fashion. The products scheduled for broadcast include the Izenbuck "Challenger Jacket 2-piece set," "Challenger Trekking Shoes," as well as the "Pattern Lightweight Down Jacket" and "Puffer Disc Padding Shoes."
