Arrest Warrant Requested for Company CEO Mr. A on Charges of Negligent Homicide in the Course of Duty
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] The Yeosu Maritime Police Station in Jeollanam-do has applied for an arrest warrant for company representative A regarding the death of a high school student intern who was removing underwater foreign substances (barnacles) at the Yeosu Ungcheon Yi Sun-sin Marina dock.
The Yeosu Maritime Police stated, "On the 15th, considering the seriousness of the matter, we applied for an arrest warrant for company representative A for non-compliance with the standard internship agreement, ordering dangerous tasks such as diving work, and violations during scuba diving operations (according to the Industrial Safety and Health Regulations)."
A Yeosu Maritime Police official said, "While continuing additional investigations on company representative A, we will conduct a strict and thorough investigation, including verifying compliance with the regulations and procedures according to the Yeosu Maritime Science High School internship operation guidelines."
