Weekly Launch of Unique Limited Edition Products and Sales Through Raffles
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] A platform specializing in limited edition products has emerged.
Shinsegae International announced that it will launch 'Design United (DU)', a collaboration content platform in the fashion and lifestyle sectors, at 2 PM on the 20th. 'DU', meaning 'connecting design', is a new type of platform first attempted by Shinsegae International, exclusively selling limited edition products from brands and content favored by the MZ generation.
Shinsegae International planned the platform to exclusively sell related products after observing the market environment where limited edition products sell out immediately upon release and the rapidly growing limited edition resale market. The industry estimates the domestic limited edition resale market size to be about 500 billion KRW.
DU operates the 'DU Project', which sells limited edition products born from special weekly collaborations through raffles (random drawing method). In the first project revealed at 2 PM on the day, bags produced in collaboration with the artist brand 'Darkroom Studio (DARKR8M STUDIO)' and the national backpack brand 'Eastpak' will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Darkroom Studio's limited edition products are popular among young people, selling out immediately upon release.
At 10 AM on the 21st, bicycles and helmets created through collaboration between the American electric bicycle brand 'SUPER73', helmet specialist brand 'thousand', and renowned art director Cha In-cheol will be unveiled. Additionally, DU carefully selects about 100 brands that have recently gained great popularity to exclusively sell new products and popular lines.
The fashion brand 'KANGHYUK', which gained worldwide attention as a semi-finalist of the 2019 LVMH Prize, will start online sales for the first time on DU. The Italian contemporary brand SUNNEI will showcase products exclusively sold on DU.
