Namak Lotte Outlet Supports Local Artists' Creative Activities 'Onhim'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Outlet Namaak Branch (Manager Kim Byung-il) is putting effort into supporting the creative activities of local artists.

They are providing opportunities to local cultural artists from various fields who are experiencing difficulties in creative activities and promotion amid the COVID-19 situation.

Since 2019, Lotte Outlet Namaak Branch has been steadily carrying out various support activities, such as providing exhibition spaces for about 20 local artists including calligraphers, painters, and photographers.

This year as well, they were selected for the Artsro project, an artist dispatch support program organized by the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation in April, and have continued activities through collaboration with local artists.

The store guide map of Namaak Branch, newly interpreted from the perspective of artist Lee Gwi-nim, was born as an art piece, and music tracks and music videos featuring local young musicians have been produced and are being utilized.

Additionally, young artists produced promotional videos matching the concept of each floor of the Namaak Branch.

Along with this, since the 14th, an exhibition of works by five local young artists including Kim Min-woo and Kwak Tae-young is being held to promote their works.

A separate space for promoting artworks has been prepared at Lovely Square on the 1st floor, where the artists’ works are exhibited and sold. The artists provide on-site explanations of their works and offer a service to directly deliver purchased works. The exhibition will continue until the 24th.

Kim Byung-il, manager of Lotte Outlet Namaak Branch, said, “I hope local artists who are struggling with their creative activities will become well known to the public,” and added, “We will actively continue activities for mutual growth with the local community.”
