Samsung Hires Top Talent from National Skills Competition... "Increase in Semiconductor and Battery Workforce"
Training Candidates for Participation in the Shanghai International Skills Olympics Next October
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung Electronics and six other Samsung affiliates announced on the 18th that they will hire outstanding skilled workers who will participate in this year's National Skills Competition.
The Samsung affiliates conducting the recruitment are Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Biologics, S-1, and Samsung Welstory. The recruitment fields include ▲Mechanical/Equipment ▲Electrical/Electronics ▲Software/Network ▲CAD, among others. In particular, this year Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI plan to expand the scale of hiring, focusing on semiconductor and battery equipment personnel.
The recruitment process will take place between November and December, and the final selected candidates will join the company in January next year. Among the newly hired employees, those who place first or second in the National Skills Competition will be trained as candidates to participate in the '46th International Skills Olympics in Shanghai, China,' scheduled for October next year, through separate training after joining.
Since 2007, Samsung has continuously hired an average of about 100 skilled workers annually who have participated in the National Skills Competition to expand the base of skilled workers in Korea and nurture outstanding talent. Samsung employees have won 28 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals as national representatives at the International Skills Olympics.
