On the 18th, the Hwasun Police Station in Jeollanam-do arrested and sent three individuals, including A (19), to the prosecution on charges of attempted murder. K (20), who conspired with them in another murder plan, was also arrested and sent to the prosecution on charges of murder preparation.
A and the other two are accused of attempting to murder a peer female they lured to a pension in Buk-myeon, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, around 11 p.m. on the 9th, using a weapon.
Police investigation revealed that they meticulously planned the crime in advance, dividing roles such as boyfriend, assailant, and getaway driver, aiming for the death insurance money.
A, who played the boyfriend role, brought the victim to the pension under the pretext of a "50-day anniversary trip" and lured her to a secluded spot. B (19), who played the assailant role and was waiting at the crime scene, attacked the victim with a weapon.
However, the weapon broke, and the woman fiercely resisted, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt.
C (20), who was assigned the getaway role, tried to escape by driving the vehicle after B completed the crime, but due to a problem with the vehicle's wheel, he could not appear at the crime scene.
The woman was saved by the help of the pension owner and guests and was transported to the hospital, surviving the attack.
On the 15th, a woman in her 20s, Ms. K, suspected of planning a murder with other accomplices to claim insurance money (preparation for murder), is seen entering the courtroom for a warrant hearing. Photo by Yonhap News
