Tokyo Stock Exchange Closing Time to Be Extended for the First Time in 70 Years
Extension of the Time Frame from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM Under Consideration
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] The closing time for spot stock trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange will be extended by 30 minutes starting in 2024.
According to major foreign media on the 17th, the closing time for spot stock trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange will be extended from the current 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange plans to extend the closing time in line with the trading system overhaul scheduled for 2024. After review by the advisory Market Operations Committee, the final decision on extending the closing time is expected by the end of this month. The extension of the closing time requires approval from the Financial Services Agency.
