[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A driver who hit a vehicle in an underground parking lot reportedly fled the scene after applying pain relief patches as a temporary measure without contacting the owner of the damaged vehicle.
On the 13th, a post titled "My car parked in the underground parking lot was terribly damaged" was uploaded on an online community.
A, who said the accident occurred on the 9th, stated, "Around 10 p.m. on October 10, when I was about to go to work, I found my car damaged. After checking the black box, I realized an accident had happened." He added, "I immediately reported it to the police station, and until I reported it, the perpetrator who caused the accident had not contacted me."
A continued, "The accident itself is unavoidable, but what happened afterward made me very angry." He explained, "The black box footage shows the perpetrator entering the parking lot, turning a curve, and hitting my car. Then, a rope was tied to the left wheel of my car, which was pushed against the wall, connecting it to the perpetrator’s vehicle, forcibly pulling it about twice."
A said, "The footage also shows the perpetrator carrying pain relief patches, applying and wiping them on various parts of my car, and trying to push the left bumper inward with force." He added, "After doing various things for about 20 minutes, the perpetrator leisurely left."
Later, on the 11th, after identifying the vehicle number through the black box, A contacted the owner of the perpetrator’s vehicle. A said, "When I asked why they didn’t contact me, they said their eyes were blurry and they couldn’t see the phone number, and that they were waiting for me to contact them." He added, "When I asked if they could have contacted the management office or the police if they couldn’t see the number, the perpetrator shamelessly said they would handle the insurance, telling me to repair the car and rent a vehicle."
A expressed frustration, saying, "Regarding forcibly pulling the car, they said they did it because they needed to know how much damage there was to the car parts." He continued, "The police said the perpetrator caused the accident on October 9 and filed an insurance claim on the same day, so legally there is no problem."
