[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province issued an administrative order on the 13th requiring diagnostic testing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among workers at large construction sites within the jurisdiction.
Accordingly, all regular and temporary workers at 55 large construction sites with a total floor area of 10,000㎡ or more must undergo COVID-19 diagnostic testing at temporary screening clinics from this day until the 26th, regardless of their vaccination status.
Undocumented foreigners can also receive free testing without visa verification.
Violating the administrative order will result in a fine of up to 2 million KRW under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act. If the violation leads to further spread of infection, costs related to COVID-19 testing, investigation, treatment, and other quarantine expenses may be claimed.
