KOTRA Hosts '2021 Foreign Student Recruitment Fair'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] KOTRA announced that it will hold the '2021 Foreign Student Recruitment Fair' for two days starting from the 12th at the Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention Center (SETEC) in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This event provides an opportunity for domestic companies seeking to hire foreign talent to directly meet foreign students currently enrolled in domestic universities. A total of 82 domestic companies and about 1,000 foreign students will participate. The fair will be conducted in both online and offline formats while complying with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. In addition to one-on-one recruitment consultations, the event includes company-specific recruitment briefings, special lectures by foreign employment seniors, and employment visa consultations by the Ministry of Justice, among various other programs.
Companies from diverse fields such as automotive, electrical and electronics, eco-friendly energy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, games, and content will participate in the fair. Recently, KOTRA introduced that companies want to hire foreigners for various reasons including developing new sales channels, localizing products for overseas expansion, and addressing domestic labor shortages.

Kim Yuntae, Head of KOTRA's Small and Medium Business Division, said, "Foreign students will be a great help in the long term for domestic companies to secure competitiveness in overseas expansion and resolve labor shortages," adding, "We hope that companies will be able to meet the talent they need through this event."
