Wanju-gun Accelerates Promotion of 'Wanju-type New Deal 2.0'

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 12th that it will officially promote the ‘Wanju-type New Deal 2.0’.

The Wanju-type New Deal 2.0 focuses on ‘strengthening the operation of the Task Force (TF)’ and ‘activating the industry-academia-research advisory group.’

The county will first strengthen the operation of the ‘New Deal TF’ to discover new projects (public contests) by sector, share tasks between departments, and enhance cooperation.

This reflects a strong determination to solidify the operation of the ‘New Deal TF’ by sharing information and cooperating among related departments, strengthening inter-departmental cooperation by sector, and checking the progress of the ‘Korean New Deal 2.0,’ which will involve large-scale investments, to turn it into an opportunity for Wanju County.

Wanju County also plans to strengthen the expert cooperation system by forming and actively operating the ‘New Deal Industry-Academia-Research Council (Advisory Group)’ in four areas: △New Deal General △Digital New Deal △Green New Deal △Regional Balanced New Deal.

Within this month, Wanju County will hold internal meetings by division of the ‘Wanju-type New Deal TF’ and draw up a roadmap for promoting ‘Wanju-type New Deal 2.0.’

Furthermore, based on this, they plan to hold a ‘kick-off meeting’ for the first concrete discussions with experts, together with the advisory group ‘New Deal Industry-Academia-Research Council,’ using the prepared materials so far.

County Governor Park Seong-il said, “Having gained confidence through Wanju-type New Deal 1.0, the intention is to actively respond to the government’s revised policy for the ‘Korean New Deal 2.0.’ If we actively respond to the Green New Deal aiming for a carbon-neutral socio-economy, the Human New Deal strengthening employment and social safety nets, and the Regional Balanced New Deal to resolve regional disparities, Wanju can create new opportunities.”
