According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Vice Minister Lee held an expert meeting on service industry policy directions at the Government Seoul Office on the same day, reviewing the impact of mega-trend changes including the COVID-19 pandemic on related industries, and then discussed policy directions and key tasks.
In his opening remarks, Vice Minister Lee said, "In the 'With COVID-19' era, new types of high value-added services characterized by non-face-to-face, customized, and hyper-realistic features are expected to provide various business models," adding, "To secure high value-added and new markets, accurate analysis of the direction and speed of change and proactive response are more important than anything else."

He added, "We will make every effort to legislate the 'Service Industry Development Basic Act,' a prerequisite for service innovation and a major transition to a service convergence economy, to secure future food sources for the next 30 years."
