Gurye-gun Provides Monthly Housing Allowance of 50,000 KRW to University Students Studying Outside the Region
Application Submission at Eup and Myeon Offices Until the 29th
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced on the 8th that it will promote the Hometown Shelter Support Project, which provides university students studying in other regions with 50,000 KRW per month for housing expenses to alleviate their financial burden.
The county is promoting the support project to prevent young people residing in other regions for academic purposes from changing their registered address, thereby creating a young and healthy population structure, and to alleviate the financial burden of students studying away from home by supporting their housing costs and fostering hometown pride.
Applicants must have had their resident registration in Gurye-gun for more than one year and be enrolled in a university or higher education institution in another region.
University students who maintain their resident registration address in Gurye-gun can receive support for up to four years.
Gurye-gun supported 126 people with 34 million KRW in the first half of this year.
University students who apply in the second half of the year will receive the six-month payment for the second half individually at the end of December.
Applications can be submitted at the Eup/Myeon offices until the 29th of this month.
Kim Soon-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, said, “I hope the Hometown Shelter Project will alleviate the housing burden of our students studying in other regions,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to develop policies for young people who will lead the future of Gurye.”
