IBM Also Mandates Vaccination... "Unpaid Suspension for Violations"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Global information technology (IT) company IBM has mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for its employees in the United States.
On the 7th (local time), IBM announced in a recent memo sent to its U.S. employees that they must complete their COVID-19 vaccinations by December 8. It also warned that failure to comply would result in unpaid suspension.
IBM explained that as a contractor working with the government, it must comply with the vaccine mandate imposed by President Joe Biden on federal government contractors.
An IBM spokesperson stated, "Considering this mandate, the policies of many of our clients and partners, and the nationwide ease of vaccine access, IBM requires all U.S. employees to complete their vaccinations by December 8 to work at IBM."
