On the 7th, according to the Eximbank, President Bang attended the completion ceremony of the separator manufacturing plant, a core battery material, held at SK IE Technology's Poland subsidiary the previous day.
This project involves constructing a production line for electric vehicle separators with an annual capacity of 340 million square meters in the Silesian Voivodeship in southern Poland, marking SK IET's first factory in Europe (Plant 1). The Eximbank provided approximately 260 billion KRW in financing to SK IET's Poland subsidiary in 2019.
SK IET is currently making a large-scale investment totaling 2 trillion KRW and an annual production capacity of 1.54 billion square meters solely in the Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The completion ceremony was attended by high-ranking government officials including the Polish Deputy Minister of Development, as well as key related companies such as SK On.
President Bang stated, “Despite the COVID-19 situation, thanks to the efforts of the Polish government and our companies, we were able to hold the completion ceremony without any setbacks,” and added, “I hope that our companies will actively enter overseas markets in the innovative growth industry of batteries.”
