Gwangyang City, Idea Contest for Employees on Imagination Plus Policy Development
Public Contest in 5 Areas Including New Growth Engine Industry Development Plans
Encouraging One Proposal per Team with Various Awards Including 1 Million Won Gold Prize
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 5th, Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold a ‘Policy Development Employee Idea Contest’ for city officials to increase their interest in key municipal issues and to discover matters that require alternative solutions.
Under the theme “Designing a Bright Future for Gwangyang with Your Ideas,” Gwangyang City solicited ideas in five areas: ▲ Measures to foster new growth engine industries ▲ Policies and administrative services in preparation for the With-Corona era ▲ Regional economic revitalization such as consumption promotion and job creation ▲ Public response measures for carbon neutrality ▲ Feasible policies for the development of Gwangyang City.
Submitted ideas will be reviewed by the relevant departments and evaluated by a proposal judging committee, comprehensively considering policy feasibility, creativity, efficiency, and effort. Awards will be given as follows: Grand Prize 1 million KRW (1 person), Silver Prize 750,000 KRW (1 person), Bronze Prize 500,000 KRW (1 person), and Encouragement Prize 250,000 KRW.
Along with the awards, personnel benefits will be granted according to the adopted idea’s rating, and the department that submits the most proposals will receive a departmental prize of 500,000 KRW to boost employee morale.
Kim Bok-deok, Director of the Planning and Budget Office, said, “For municipal development, it is most important to actively reflect the opinions of employees who carry out actual work,” and added, “We hope many employees will propose innovative ideas for the development of Gwangyang City.”
