Gimhae City Donates Refurbished Bicycles to Vulnerable Groups... Promoting Green Transportation and Neighborly Sharing Culture 'Two Birds with One Stone'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 5th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced that it collected 127 abandoned bicycles, repaired 20 of them that were salvageable, and delivered them to vulnerable groups and low-income families.
The bicycles delivered were those that had been abandoned without permission since early this year at bicycle racks in the local light rail stations and along the roadside. The city collected and directly repaired them, giving new life to these recycled bicycles.
Through this, it is expected to promote bicycle use and contribute to spreading a culture of neighborly love by providing green transportation means to neighbors in need.
