[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City’s ‘Jeonju Book Love Point Chaekkung20,’ introduced to spread reading culture and support the management stability of local bookstores, has received a positive response, recording 3,883 subscribers within 50 days of its launch.
According to Jeonju City on the 5th, ‘Jeonju Book Love Point Chaekkung20’ is a system that provides 20% of the book’s list price as points when purchasing books at 32 local bookstores, and awards 50 points per book when borrowing and returning books at 12 municipal libraries.
Additionally, since a minimum discount of 20% can be received when purchasing books, it has the advantage of enhancing the competitiveness of local bookstores compared to online bookstores.
Fifty days after its implementation, the number of subscribers to ‘Chaekkung20’ reached 3,883, and the total amount citizens used with the points awarded was calculated to be 13,727,940 won.
During this period, book sales generated through ‘Chaekkung20’ at bookstores amounted to 68,639,700 won.
Going forward, Jeonju City plans to continue various promotions such as SNS events to encourage more citizens to use ‘Chaekkung20.’
Meanwhile, to subscribe to ‘Chaekkung20,’ one must first obtain a membership card from the Jeonju Municipal Library and then register on the Jeonju Municipal Library website.
The list of 32 participating bookstores can be found on the Jeonju Municipal Library website.
