Receive IKEA Products at GS Caltex... 'Gas Station Pickup Service' Launched
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] IKEA Korea is partnering with GS Caltex to launch a new gas station pickup service.
The IKEA gas station pickup service allows customers to order products through IKEA Korea's official online mall or the mobile application 'IKEA App,' then select their preferred pickup date and time to collect their items at a nearby GS Caltex gas station.
IKEA is collaborating with GS Caltex, which has a nationwide network, to enhance shopping convenience. GS Caltex is utilizing its gas stations as logistics hubs as part of its strategy to transform into a future-oriented gas station.
Delivery of IKEA furniture, which was difficult to receive via courier services due to size and weight, is now available for up to 0.4 CBM volume at a cost of 19,000 KRW, with pickup possible within approximately 2 to 4 days from the order date. 0.4 CBM generally corresponds to the volume that fills the trunk of a mid-sized sedan or SUV. The service is available only for products under 0.4 CBM in volume and with a length of 180 cm or less.
Starting from the 5th, a pilot service will be conducted for three months at six GS Caltex gas stations nationwide, beginning with the Gangnam-gu GS Caltex Samseong-ro gas station, followed by locations in Daegu, Changwon, Pyeongtaek, Cheonan, and Daejeon. The plan is to expand nationwide based on consumer demand and satisfaction. Detailed information about the gas station pickup service will be available on IKEA Korea's official online mall starting from the 5th.
