Gyeonggi-do Launches Pilot Project for Remodeling Consulting of 7 Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is promoting a pilot project that allows residents to determine the feasibility of remodeling their aging apartment complexes within one month.
Unlike the existing projects that take about nine months, this new approach enables a rough assessment of feasibility within just one month, which is expected to aid residents in their decision-making process.
On the 5th, Gyeonggi Province announced that, following demand surveys conducted in cities and counties, seven sites including Goyang Gangseon 12 Complex Dujin Apartment were selected as targets for the "Visiting Apartment Remodeling Consultation" program.
The province's existing public housing remodeling consulting project supports residents facing difficulties due to lack of information by providing consulting service fees. It offers customized consulting results over three stages?planning design, basic design, and feasibility analysis?spanning nine months.
In contrast, this pilot project utilizes the "Remodeling Public Consulting Support System" developed by Ajou University research team, which inputs only complex-specific variables into existing statistical data.
Although it is difficult to perform customized analysis unlike the existing detailed consulting, the key is to derive a rough feasibility assessment within 3 to 4 weeks. The province plans to conduct additional review processes on the advisory reports from the research team.
A provincial official emphasized, "We will strive to establish a system that objectively supports residents' decision-making in the early stages of remodeling by operating the 'Visiting Apartment Remodeling Consultation' pilot alongside the existing 'Remodeling Consulting Project.'"
