Strengthening Labor Inspector Training Curriculum... Expanding Subjects from 45 to 71
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 5th that it has strengthened the training program to enhance the capabilities of labor inspectors. Accordingly, the training period for labor inspectors will be extended from 20 weeks to 24 weeks, and the number of subjects will significantly increase from 45 to 71. Instructors will also be organized mainly from field experts to systematize on-site adaptation training.
As workers' awareness of their rights increases and disputes related to labor laws rise, the role of labor inspectors is becoming more important. Accordingly, the Ministry of Employment has been expanding the number of labor inspectors. The newly assigned labor inspectors in the second half of the year represent the largest scale in the past five years, according to the Ministry.
The focus of the curriculum reform is not only to increase the number of labor inspectors but also to equip them with expertise so that they can fulfill their roles effectively in industrial sites.
