Pizza Alvolo Used 13 Tons of Domestic Cheongyang Chili Peppers Annually
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Pizza Alvolo announced on the 3rd that it consumes about 13 tons of domestically grown Cheongyang chili peppers annually, leading efforts to coexist with farmers.
Since signing an agreement with the Yeongwol Agricultural Cooperative in Gangwon Province in 2017, Pizza Alvolo has been supplied with high-quality red Cheongyang chili peppers and launched the first hot sauce in Korea made from domestic Cheongyang chili peppers.
Yeongwol-grown Cheongyang chili peppers grow in soil with large temperature differences and developed limestone areas, resulting in thick skins, firm flesh, and a sweet yet sharp spicy flavor. They are also rich in minerals and have high contents of vitamin C, capsaicin, and free sugars.
