The province reviewed the budget projects directly proposed by residents from March to May until September, and based on this, conducted an online resident vote from the 13th to the 24th of last month to select the final projects.
As a result, the 2022 resident participation budget was finalized at a total of 15,786,700,000 KRW.

The resident-led projects?provincial government participation type, city-county linkage type, and youth participation type?underwent feasibility reviews and concretization processes by the responsible departments, followed by deliberations by the subcommittee and steering committee, and finally 55 projects were selected through the online resident vote.
The resident autonomy type projects are life-oriented projects discovered through each eup, myeon, and dong resident autonomy councils and regional meetings, with 103 projects confirmed.
This year, the scale of the resident autonomy type public project selection was significantly expanded (from 1 billion KRW to 4.6 billion KRW) to promote the transition to resident autonomy councils, strengthen their capabilities, and grant residents the authority to decide the budget, enabling residents to exercise practical power.
The selected projects can be checked on the Gyeongsangnam-do resident participation budget website, and after going through the council's budget review and resolution, they will be reflected in the final budget and implemented.
