Kim Jung-ju, Nexon Founder, Will Not Attend National Assembly Audit
[Asia Economy Reporters Kang Nahum and Boo Aeri] Kim Jungju, the founder of Nexon and former CEO of NXC, who was selected as a witness for the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee audit scheduled for the 5th, will not attend.
According to the National Assembly Political Affairs Committee on the 1st, Kim informed that he would not attend due to staying overseas. Kang Wonki, the director of MapleStory, also submitted a letter of absence due to health reasons.
A staff member from the office of Representative Yoo Dongsoo of the Democratic Party, who requested Kim and Director Kang as witnesses, pointed out, "It only makes sense if Nexon executives and staff appear simultaneously."
Instead, Representative Yoo's office is considering selecting two other Nexon executives and mid-level witnesses for the comprehensive audit. It is reported that Lee Jeongheon, CEO of Nexon Korea, is the most likely to receive a summons in place of Kim Jungju.
