Muju-gun, Seolcheon-myeon Socheon-ri Urban Regeneration New Deal Project Final Selection
150 Billion Invested from 2022 to 2025... Promoted as General Neighborhood Type
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hanho] Muju-gun announced on the 1st that the Seolcheon-myeon Urban Regeneration New Deal Project was finally selected through the deliberation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Urban Regeneration Special Committee.
Accordingly, Seolcheon-myeon will gain momentum for regional revitalization by promoting a general neighborhood-type New Deal project under the theme of "Clean Nature, a Happy Taekwondo Hinterland City Seolcheon, Nunkkotnae."
The New Deal project will invest a total of 15 billion KRW, including 8 billion KRW in national funds, for projects such as Nunkkotnae Hub Formation (Samdobong Market Complex, Taekwondo Station), Nunkkotnae Smart Residential Regeneration (renovation of 40 old houses, living environment improvement project), Nunkkotnae Customized Street Maintenance (Taekwondo Road creation, Namdaecheon Nunkkot Trail maintenance project), and Nunkkotnae Community Activation (regional revitalization maintenance program).
The project site is the largest tourist area in Muju-gun, covering approximately 150,000 square meters.
With the concentrated investment of 15 billion KRW in Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun expects to establish regional identity, improve the commercial ecosystem to revitalize the declining commercial district, and enhance the local economy and residents' quality of life through the expansion of community-based living infrastructure.
Hwang Inhong, the mayor of Muju-gun, said, "Through the Seolcheon-myeon Urban Regeneration New Deal Project, the position of Seolcheon-myeon, the hinterland city of Taekwondo, will be strengthened, along with the creation of a central store hub (Samdobong Market) and the establishment of Taekwondo Station where visitors can enjoy various experiences and relaxation."
