6 out of 10 Companies Are Undergoing or Planning Digital Transformation

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heeyoon Kim] Amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic accelerating digital transformation in companies, it was found that 61.8% of domestic companies are either undergoing or planning digital transformation.
Hunet (CEO Youngtak Jo) announced the results of the "2021 Corporate Education Digital Transformation Status" survey on the 1st, which included this information.
The survey was conducted targeting corporate education managers. It was jointly conducted by the research team of Professor Jingu Lee at Korea University of Technology and Education and the Hunet Edutech Research Institute, with participation from 149 domestic companies.
When asked whether their company is undergoing "digital transformation," 61.8% responded that they are currently undergoing or planning digital transformation. By company size, large enterprises (78.6%) and mid-sized companies (41.6%) ranked "undergoing" as the highest response. For small and medium-sized enterprises, the proportions of "planning" and "no plans" were equally the highest at 37.1%, indicating differences in business-level digital transformation depending on company size.
Regarding the necessity of digital transformation in corporate education, 77.2% answered that it is necessary. This was consistently high regardless of company size.
56.4% of responding companies indicated that they are currently undergoing or planning digital transformation in employee education. It was confirmed that corporate digital transformation is affecting not only business but also employee education.
The most frequently used digital learning methods in employee education were "e-learning" (27.5%), "real-time non-face-to-face education" (23.5%), "big data-based smart learning" (6.7%), "real-time non-face-to-face coaching and mentoring" (6.7%), and "microlearning" (5.4%) in that order. Although metaverse, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), learning journeys, and hybrid learning are attracting attention as new digital learning methods, their utilization is still low.
The digital areas considered most necessary by companies in employee education were "big data construction," "artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning," "short video content," "content curation," and "dashboard development."
