The Won-Dollar Exchange Rate Hits Intraday Record High... Closes Down 1,184 Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 30th, the KRW-USD exchange rate closed higher.
On that day, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-to-dollar exchange rate closed at 1,184.0 KRW per dollar, up 2.2 KRW from the previous day's closing price.
The exchange rate started trading at 1,188.0 KRW, up 6.2 KRW, and immediately rose to 1,188.7 KRW, marking a new intraday high for two consecutive days. On the previous day, it had once risen to 1,188.5 KRW.
It is analyzed that the negotiation (dollar selling) volume from export companies at the end of the quarter and the inflow of foreign funds into the domestic stock market contributed to the decline in the exchange rate.
