View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Park Jin, a member of the People Power Party known as a 'diplomatic expert,' has come out in support of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, a presidential candidate.
On the afternoon of the 30th, Park met with former Prosecutor General Yoon at a restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, and told reporters, "I will share the same will (with former Prosecutor General Yoon) for a regime change." This was an official declaration of support for former Prosecutor General Yoon.
Park explained, "All the candidates from the People Power Party are capable and experienced, but what the people demand is to stop the tyranny of the Moon Jae-in administration, to judge corruption, and to open a new Republic of Korea. I believe the candidate with the determination and qualities to best meet the people's demands is former Prosecutor General Yoon."
He continued, "Currently, a fierce global hegemony competition between the U.S. and China is underway, and the Republic of Korea must seek a survival strategy here. We need to normalize the broken Korea-U.S. relationship, reestablish inter-Korean relations with principles, and require a meticulous diplomatic and security strategy for new future peace and prosperity. In that regard, I once again confirmed today that I share the philosophy and thoughts of former Prosecutor General Yoon," he emphasized.
Park plans to deliver his own pledges to former Prosecutor General Yoon. Park ran as a preliminary candidate in this presidential primary but was eliminated in the first cut-off. Park said, "During the primary process, I refined and announced advanced country-type policy pledges, and although some have not yet been announced, I plan to deliver all these to former Prosecutor General Yoon."
