Rolls-Royce "Only Electric Cars Will Be Sold by 2030"
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Rolls-Royce has declared its transformation into an electric vehicle manufacturer by announcing it will stop selling gasoline vehicles by 2030. On the 29th (local time), Rolls-Royce unveiled its first pure electric vehicle model, the 'Spectre,' and announced this plan, Bloomberg reported on the same day.
Torsten M?ller-?tv?s, CEO of Rolls-Royce, said, "With the launch of the Spectre, we have decided to fully electrify all Rolls-Royce production products by 2030," adding, "By 2030, Rolls-Royce will neither produce nor sell internal combustion engine vehicles anymore."
CEO ?tv?s emphasized the significance, saying, "Since Charles Rolls and Henry Royce agreed to build cars together on May 4, 1904, this is the most important decision in Rolls-Royce's history."
Rolls-Royce's parent company, BMW, also previously unveiled its first pure electric vehicle model, the BMW iX, and announced it will begin sales from March next year.

Oliver Zipse, CEO of BMW, stated in an interview earlier this month that demand for electric vehicles is rapidly increasing, and the scale of electric vehicle battery order contracts has grown from 12 billion euros to 20 billion euros. The proportion of electric vehicles in BMW's sales in the first half of this year was 11%.
