Gokseong-gun and Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Sign Agreement to Support Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Premiums for Solo Small Business Owners
Industrial Accident Insurance Premiums 30-50%, Employment Insurance Premiums Up to 80% for Overlapping Support
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 30th that it has signed a written business agreement with the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service to promote employment and industrial accident insurance enrollment for one-person self-employed individuals.
Through this agreement, one-person self-employed business owners operating in Gokseong-gun will be able to receive support covering 30% to 50% of their employment and industrial accident insurance premiums.
Separately, one-person self-employed individuals enrolled in employment insurance can receive support covering 20% to 50% of their employment insurance premiums for five years from the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
Since overlapping support is possible, depending on the conditions, benefits of up to 80% of the employment insurance premium can be received. Gokseong-gun expects this support to greatly help strengthen the social safety net for small business owners.
To receive the support funds, business owners must apply once a year through their local eup/myeon office or the Gokseong-gun Small Business Hope Center. However, the support funds will be calculated and paid quarterly.
A Gokseong-gun official stated, “We hope that support for employment and industrial accident insurance premiums for self-employed individuals will serve as a reliable safety net for small business owners, and we will actively cooperate with the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service and widely promote this so that as many small business owners as possible can apply.”
