Muan-gun, Full Effort to Collect Overdue Non-Tax Revenues
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan-gun (Governor Kim San) is making every effort to collect overdue non-tax revenue, including operating a focused period for clearing last year's overdue amounts in the second half from next month until December.
According to the county on the 29th, strong collection activities were promoted during the first half overdue amount clearing period from May to July, resulting in the collection of 940 million KRW (76% of the target amount).
To collect overdue amounts, overdue notices and payment guidance letters are first sent to encourage voluntary payment, and for high-amount and habitual defaulters, real estate and financial asset inquiries will be conducted followed by strong administrative measures.
On the other hand, for livelihood-type defaulters such as small business owners and self-employed individuals experiencing economic difficulties due to COVID-19, installment payment inducement and deferral of collection measures will be implemented to help economic recovery.
A county official said, "Although the local economy is stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, we will actively support livelihood-type defaulters to overcome difficulties. For high-amount and habitual defaulters who intentionally default despite having the ability to pay, we will carry out strong collection activities to secure stable finances."
