The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced the "October Korean New Deal Major Project Implementation Plan" on the 29th, which includes these details.
The government is implementing a nationwide employment insurance policy to expand the employment safety net and strengthening industrial accident insurance policies to reduce industrial accidents. The plan is to operate industrial accident insurance policies together with employment insurance policies to create a synergy effect.
A Ministry of Economy and Finance official explained, "Along with the employment insurance applied from July 1, we expect this to greatly help establish a more thorough social safety net for vulnerable workers such as teukgo and platform workers."
Earlier, the government applied employment insurance to 12 special employment occupations, including insurance planners, starting July 1. From January next year, the government plans to expand employment insurance to include substitute drivers and quick service workers (including delivery drivers).
In the Digital New Deal, the government plans to prepare and announce a regulatory innovation roadmap for the autonomous ship sector by next month. Through this, the government expects to improve logistics flow efficiency by more than 10%, save 22% in operating costs, and reduce maritime accidents by more than 75%.
In the Green New Deal, the second phase of the wind power testbed construction project will begin next month. Last year, the government declared its ambition to become the world's fifth largest offshore wind power nation by 2030 and announced plans to accelerate policies on wind power and other new and renewable energy sources.
