'Memories of Elementary School Tteokbokki' Export Expansion to 7 European Countries
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] 'Nostalgic Elementary School Tteokbokki (hereafter Guktteok)' is accelerating its push into the European market.
On the 29th, Guktteok announced that it has expanded exports of 'Guktteok,' which has introduced the taste of Korea to over 30 countries worldwide, to seven European countries including Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, France, and Norway.
Guktteok is a soup-style tteokbokki that recreates the taste of the tteokbokki eaten in front of schools during childhood. With an easy-to-follow recipe, a variety of flavors to choose from according to preference, and an authentic expression of Korean taste and sentiment, it has captivated the palates of foreigners.
A Guktteok representative said, "Among the European regions, the main reasons why exports to Germany and the UK were successfully achieved include not only being verified by consumers domestically but also the rare overseas export know-how accumulated over nearly seven years as a small and medium-sized enterprise," adding, "As a result, inquiries from overseas buyers and domestic exporters continue to come in."
The representative added, "With the global rise in demand for convenience foods due to the impact of COVID-19, we expect to continue the K-food craze in Europe as well," and said, "We aim to expand export countries by continuously improving product quality and thoroughly responding to food-related certifications."
