[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki stated on the 28th, "Korea will provide maximum support through the Korea Sharing Program (KSP) system to help partner countries reduce trial and error and achieve compressed development in a shorter period."

Deputy Prime Minister Hong made these remarks in his opening address at the '2021 KSP Performance Sharing Conference,' held in a hybrid online and offline format at the Conrad Seoul Hotel by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. KSP is a policy advisory project that transfers Korea's economic development experience and know-how to developing countries.

Hong presented the keywords '3S'?soft power, sustainability, and synergy?as the direction for KSP's future.

He said, "To increase the utilization of KSP advisory services, we will develop and distribute standardized advisory reports, i.e., modularization, based on Korea's development experience accumulated over many years," adding, "We will also strengthen human networking such as study tours to Korea to expand efforts to transfer know-how."

He continued, "To enhance the medium- to long-term effectiveness of KSP advisory services, we will establish a large-scale, multi-year KSP program called 'KSP-Plus,' which will take responsibility from the initial master plan establishment to the preparation of detailed project plans."

He also said, "We will proactively identify advisory topics with high cooperation demand such as health, green, and digital sectors to provide customized advice tailored to partner countries' circumstances, significantly expand the proportion of urgent request projects, and increase participation in joint consulting projects with international organizations."

The conference, held under the theme 'Sharing Knowledge in the Era of Green and Digital Economy,' will run for three days until the 30th. The conference will be broadcast live on the KDI YouTube channel, and anyone interested can participate.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has been holding this conference annually since 2007 to share the achievements of KSP projects implemented throughout the year with the international community and discuss better cooperation methods.
