[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Various gourds, including jorongbak (bottle gourds), are bearing fruit in Namsan Village, Sancheong-eup, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, attracting attention.
According to Sancheong-gun on the 28th, several crops such as jorongbak, susemi (loofah), and danhobak (pumpkin) have grown in the village's communal garden (196 Oksan-ri).
Especially, with the harvest season approaching in October, the sight of the gourds hanging in clusters is drawing people's eyes.
Recently, the local disabled organization ‘Woorida Gachi’ visited Namsan Village to conduct rural experience activities.
Kim Jong-taek, head of Namsan Village, said, “We have opened it so that anyone can view the gourds,” adding, “I hope many people enjoy it together.”
Meanwhile, Namsan Village was selected as an excellent village in the group category in the evaluation of the Gyeongnam Province Public Interest Direct Payment Support Project earlier this year.
At that time, Namsan Village was highly praised and awarded for contributing to regional coexistence and the improvement of the village community by cultivating sword beans suitable for the medicinal herb region using idle farmland.
This jorongbak cultivation and rural experience activity were also conducted for the purpose of the Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project.
