To prevent COVID-19 infection, about 1,000 logistics workers in Ulsan and Busan will receive the kits through a 'drive-thru' method, and by November, about 19,000 logistics site personnel nationwide will receive them via contactless methods such as parcel delivery.
The company distributed 500 safety kits in a drive-thru format at the Ulsan Cargo Terminal located in Buk-gu, Ulsan, the day before, and on the same day, it will distribute an additional 500 kits at the Logisquare Busan New Port Center in Gangseo-gu, Busan. Safety personnel wearing protective suits hand the kits to large truck drivers seated in their vehicles and logistics company employees at the terminal.
Each kit consists of safety gloves, hand acupressure devices, anti-drowsiness patches, gum, candy, KF94 masks with straps, and hand sanitizer.
The free distribution of safety kits is part of Hyundai Glovis's annual 'Safety Sympathy Campaign,' which has been conducted since 2015 to promote disaster prevention and safe driving as a leading domestic logistics company. Until last year, safety kits were mainly given to large truck drivers, but this year the target has been expanded to include other logistics workers to ensure safety at logistics sites.
In addition, Hyundai Glovis has been conducting social contribution activities annually since 2017 to improve the environment of highway drowsiness rest areas. This year, in collaboration with Korea Expressway Corporation and the Korea Life Safety Association, it is improving the environment of the Manjong Drowsiness Rest Area (Busan direction) in Wonju, Gangwon Province. Old rest facilities are being demolished, exercise equipment to prevent drowsy driving is being installed, and rest spaces such as pavilions and chairs are being provided.
