Suncheon City Wins 'Best Promotion Award' at the 23rd Busan International Tourism Expo
Showcasing the Charm of Suncheon’s Safe Autumn Travel Destinations in Preparation for Post-Corona
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 27th that it won the ‘Best Promotion Award’ by promoting Suncheon’s attractive autumn tourist destinations, which are safe to travel, at the 23rd Busan International Tourism Expo.
The 23rd Busan International Tourism Expo (BITE 2021), held from the 16th to the 19th at BEXCO in Busan, was hosted by Cotfa Co., Ltd. and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Busan Metropolitan City, Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Association Central Council, and others. It was held on a scale of about 250 booths with participation from over 100 organizations and companies from 30 countries including metropolitan and local governments such as Seoul, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, as well as Japan, China, and Peru.
Suncheon City promoted major tourist destinations in Suncheon that are safe and eco-friendly ahead of the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo and the With-Corona era by utilizing its promotional ambassador ‘Rumi Ttungi’.
In addition, it won the honor of the Best Promotion Award by creatively and innovatively promoting overseas travel information, which will resume with vaccination, and autumn travel in Suncheon.
A city official said, “Winning twice at this year’s tourism expo is the result of thoroughly implementing quarantine measures so that visitors can travel safely in Suncheon and welcoming tourists more warmly and kindly,” adding, “We will continue to promote various tourism policies to publicize the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo and Suncheon’s major tourist destinations to countries around the world.”
