28 New COVID-19 Cases Including Foreigners Confirmed in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 26th, 28 people in the Gwangju area were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th through a COVID-19 written briefing that a total of 28 new infections were confirmed, including 27 local transmissions and 1 imported case.
They were classified as cases number 2874 to 4901, and most were related to testing of foreigners residing in Gwangsan-gu.
Among them, 11 foreigners including cases 4882, 4884, and 4886 were confirmed infected through proactive testing, and one case, number 4901, related to manufacturing in Gwangsan-gu where transmission has been ongoing since the 19th, was reported.
The manufacturing company has seen spread centered around employees who worked with the first confirmed case, number 4613, and most are known to be foreigners from Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, and other countries.
Three cases are related to previously confirmed patients, and four cases are linked to other cities and provinces such as Hwaseong in Gyeonggi Province and Jeonnam Province.
Eight cases, including numbers 4875, 4876, and 4878, currently have unknown infection routes.
