839 Confirmed Cases in Seoul by 9 PM... 103 Fewer Than Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Seoul city announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted as 839 from 0:00 to 21:00 on Sunday the 26th, a period of 21 hours.
Compared to the same time frame, this is 103 fewer than the previous day (942 on the 25th) and 270 more than last Sunday (569 on the 19th).
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul surged to 906 on the day after the Chuseok holiday, the 23rd, then exploded to 1,222 on the 24th, setting a record high since the domestic outbreak of COVID-19. On the 25th, the number remained in the 900s for the third consecutive day, indicating a strong continuing spread within Seoul.
However, on Saturday the 25th, the number of tests conducted was 81,211, about 20,000 fewer than the previous day (104,524), which seems to have contributed to the decrease in new confirmed cases reported on the 26th compared to the previous day.
