Daejeon City Conducts 'Safety Management' Inspections for Charter Bus Companies and Associations
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 26th that it will conduct the "2021 Second Half Charter Bus Safety Management Inspection" from the 27th of this month to the 26th of next month.
The inspection will be carried out targeting 35 charter bus transportation companies and the charter bus association within the jurisdiction.
The main inspection items include ▲whether the charter bus garage is used for purposes other than its intended use ▲qualification requirements and completion of mandatory education for transportation workers ▲guarantee of rest time for transportation workers and alcohol testing ▲compliance with regular vehicle inspections and insurance subscription for charter buses ▲proper execution of large-scale and disposal vehicle tasks (association entrusted affairs), etc.
The inspection schedule includes an on-site inspection of charter bus garage management from the 27th of this month to the 1st of next month, followed by checking compliance with laws and regulations and proper execution of entrusted tasks by transportation companies and the association from the 12th to the 26th of next month.
The city plans to take corrective action on minor violations detected during the inspection on-site, and impose administrative measures such as partial suspension of business or fines according to relevant laws for illegal matters.

Han Seon-hee, Director of the Transportation and Construction Bureau of the city, said, “The inspection is conducted to prevent major accidents involving charter buses in advance and to verify compliance with safety management regulations for transportation workers and vehicles overall,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that the inspection can serve as accident prevention so that citizens can use charter buses more comfortably and safely.”
