Yeonggwang-gun Conducts 'COVID-19 Mass Testing' for Residents
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 24th that on the 23rd, temporary screening clinics were installed at 11 eup and myeon offices, and COVID-19 tests were conducted for local residents who wished to be tested.
This mass testing was a preemptive response to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 due to increased population movement from the metropolitan area and other regions during the Chuseok holiday period, aiming to create a safe community free from infectious diseases and to detect hidden infections early.
Hong Seonghu, Director of the Public Health Center, said, “Due to increased risk factors such as contact with visitors from other regions and family gatherings during the holiday period, we will make every effort to block the spread of COVID-19 in the community through preemptive diagnostic testing and strengthening a thorough quarantine system.”
Meanwhile, during the Chuseok holiday period, the county installed and operated temporary screening clinics at Yeonggwang-eup terminal, the entrance of Bulgapsa Iljumun, and Yeonggwang IC, conducting a total of about 120 preemptive tests, discovering one confirmed case from another region and transferring the individual to their residence.
