KDI Holds '2021 KSP Performance Sharing Conference'... Discussing Overcoming the COVID-19 Economic Crisis
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] The Korea Development Institute (KDI) will hold the '2021 KSP Performance Sharing Conference' for three days from the 28th to the 30th at the Conrad Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
According to KDI on the 23rd, this conference, hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and jointly organized by KDI, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), is themed "Sharing Knowledge in the Era of Green and Digital Economy." It will be held in a hybrid format, both online and offline, to discuss policy directions and the role of knowledge sharing to overcome the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the first day of the event, following the opening remarks by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki, there will be a keynote speech by Michael Kremer, a 2019 Nobel Laureate in Economics and professor at the University of Chicago. Professor Kremer will examine the current status at the turning point of the transition to a digital and green economy and present his views on international cooperation and inclusive growth to respond to these changes.
Additionally, a main session will be held chaired by Heo Kyung-wook, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with participation from Andrew Wyckoff, Director of the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, and Lee Chang-hoon, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute. Following this, major speakers will present and discuss in the digital and green sub-sessions and the health (K-quarantine) sub-session.
