Yeosu City Wins Brand Award in Marine Tourism City Category for 7 Consecutive Years

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do has won the Grand Prize in the Marine Tourism City category for the 7th consecutive year at the ‘15th 2021 Korea Consumer Trust Representative Brand Awards’.
According to the city, among 243 local government brands nationwide, Yeosu was selected as one of 63 candidates through the first survey and was finally chosen in the marine tourism city category after a comprehensive evaluation of brand awareness, preference, and satisfaction.
Despite the decline in tourism demand due to the spread of COVID-19, continuous satisfaction, expectations, and potential demand for Yeosu tourism were secured through non-face-to-face healing trips, ontact virtual trips, and promotions using web dramas.
The city plans to proactively respond to changes in tourism trends and continuously convey the charm of ‘Yeosu, a marine tourism and resort city’ through timely content development and tourism marketing strategies.
Additionally, even amid the COVID-19 crisis, the city will contribute to revitalizing tourism by highlighting the image of clean Yeosu through active quarantine activities and on-site inspections to ensure safe and healthy tourism.
A city official said, “We are striving to develop various tourism contents to find a way out of the stagnant tourism industry,” adding, “In particular, we will lay the foundation to revitalize Yeosu tourism by creating a global smart tourism city that responds to ICT new media and the trends of the 4th industrial era.”
