On the 17th, Ulsan City announced that it will provide 'Employment Stability Disaster Relief Funds' to designated driver drivers in the Ulsan area who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
On the same day, Ulsan City announced the 'COVID-19 Customized Support Project to Overcome the Livelihood Crisis, Employment Stability Disaster Relief Fund for Designated Driver Drivers Implementation Plan.'
The number of beneficiaries is 800, and each person will receive 500,000 KRW.
The eligibility criteria are ▲ residing in Ulsan, with at least 3 months of recent designated driver experience (May to July 2021) ▲ annual income of 50 million KRW or less in 2019, and a decrease in annual income in 2020 compared to 2019.
Applications for the relief fund can be submitted online or in person to the Ulsan Job Foundation from October 1 to 25.
Beneficiaries will be selected after reviewing the application documents, and the relief funds are scheduled to be paid in early November.
If the number of eligible recipients exceeds the budget, priority will be applied considering ▲ the amount of income decrease from 2019 to 2020 in descending order ▲ and the 2019 annual income in ascending order.

An official from Ulsan City said, “The city will provide additional municipal funds to designated driver drivers who have suffered greatly from COVID-19 and are in a blind spot for financial support,” adding, “We hope this will help stabilize the livelihoods of low-income workers.”
