Hapcheon-gun Selected for New and Public Disaster Prevention Projects
Secured 56.8 Billion KRW in Project Funds, Full Effort for Disaster and Accident Prevention
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that the ‘Chogye District’ was selected in 2022 for the ‘Excellent Detention Facility Installation Project’ contest organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The county achieved significant results by securing 56.8 billion KRW (30.7 billion KRW national funds, 26.1 billion KRW county funds) with new projects selected such as the ‘Naechon District Disaster Risk Improvement Project’ and the ‘Seosan (Wolpyeong) District Steep Slope Collapse Risk Area Improvement Project.’
Following Samga, Migok, and Gahyeon Districts (98.2 billion KRW), the 2022 projects Chogye District (31 billion KRW), Naechon District (20.5 billion KRW), and Seosan (Wolpyeong) District (4 billion KRW) were selected as contest and new projects, achieving the milestone of securing a total of 100 billion KRW in national funds.
The Samga District, selected in 2021, is a flood prevention project for low-lying residential areas concentrated in Geum-ri and Ilburi, Samga-myeon, Hapcheon-gun. It has received strong support from local residents and is one of the long-standing wishes of the frequently flooded Samga Market area. The detailed design service is currently underway.
The Chogye District excellent detention facility installation project is being promoted to provide permanent flood prevention in Chogye town and Chogye Market, as internal water drainage is not smooth when the flood level of Sannaecheon rises, causing frequent flood damage.
