Gwangju Bank Shares Chuseok Warmth with Single-Parent and Multi-Child Families
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced on the 16th that it held the ‘Full Moon Wish Gift Delivery’ event, delivering holiday gifts by visiting single-parent families and multi-child families in the region.
Now in its fifth year, this event is a social contribution program that shares affection for the socially marginalized by delivering gifts that fulfill wishes like a bright full moon to children from underprivileged families every Chuseok.
For a single-parent family in Yangnim-dong, Nam-gu, facing difficult circumstances, gifts such as a study desk, computer, bed, coat, and toys were given for a child entering elementary school next year. Additionally, for a multi-child family with five siblings, including elementary and preschool children, living in Sansu-dong, Dong-gu, an old refrigerator and rice cooker were replaced, and study books, coats, and toys were gifted.
Furthermore, while complying with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, Gwangju Bank employees and university student ambassadors participated directly in volunteer activities such as cleaning the house and organizing the home, and shared the abundance of the Chuseok holiday by preparing snacks together.
Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, “These days, when everyone is going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we gathered our hearts with employees to deliver the abundant warmth of Chuseok to our marginalized neighbors in the region,” adding, “As the representative bank of Gwangju and Jeonnam, we will repay the love of local residents by carrying out essential social contribution activities for various sectors of the community as well as diverse financial support.”
