Naju-si Imposes and Notifies 22.5 Billion KRW in September Regular Property Tax
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 15th that it has imposed and notified 82,235 cases of regular September property tax, amounting to 22.5 billion KRW, targeting land and housing owners.
This property tax consists of 73,631 cases for land amounting to 20.25 billion KRW and 8,604 cases for the second installment of housing amounting to 2.28 billion KRW. This is an increase of 3.8 billion KRW compared to last year, reflecting rises in individual housing prices and individual publicly announced land prices, as well as the completion and occupancy of new apartments.
The regular September property tax is imposed on land and housing owners as of the tax base date, June 1, regardless of the ownership period.
However, for housing property tax, if the amount is 200,000 KRW or less, it was fully imposed in July, but if it exceeds 200,000 KRW, it is split and imposed half in July and half this month.
Payment methods include direct payment at financial institutions by the 30th, or using ATMs, Wetax, Internet Giro, virtual accounts, local tax ARS easy payment service, or mobile app Smart Notice.
Payment notices are sent to the address registered in the resident registration or the place of residence requested by the taxpayer.
Civilians who applied for electronic notice will receive it by email, and those with automatic transfer should check their bank account balance by the end of the payment deadline.
An official from the city stated, “Property tax is a representative local tax item that is used importantly for regional development. If payment is not made within the deadline, additional payment amounts such as a 3% surcharge will occur. We ask for payment within the deadline.”
