Gwangju Labor Office Awards Excellent Companies in 'Work-Life Balance' Case Contest
Gwangju Bank Wins 'Excellence Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office announced on the 16th that it held an awards ceremony for the ‘2021 Gwangju Region Work-Life Balance Excellent Company Case Contest,’ conducted to promote the spread of work-life balance systems.
From July 22 to August 28, a contest was held targeting companies in the Gwangju region that are practicing a happy work culture by improving working methods and environments to establish a work-life balance culture, thereby contributing to productivity enhancement and job creation.
Thirteen companies participated in the contest, and six companies were awarded: the Grand Prize (1 company) with a prize of 1 million KRW and a certificate, the Excellence Award (1 company) with a prize of 500,000 KRW and a certificate, and the Encouragement Award (4 companies) each with a prize of 250,000 KRW and a certificate.
Gwangju Bank, which introduced the ‘Family Day’ and ‘PC-OFF’ systems to reduce overtime work and promote punctual attendance and work efficiency, won the Grand Prize.
Gwangju Bank also significantly increased employee job satisfaction by fostering a healthy company dinner culture through the ‘119 Campaign’ and implementing a health promotion system that rewards employees with congratulatory money upon successful weight loss or smoking cessation.
In addition, Aibechual Co., Ltd., which won the Excellence Award, made efforts to improve the working environment by installing white noise machines in the office and operating an in-house library. The Encouragement Awards were given to BAE Energy Co., Ltd., N-Gonggu Co., Ltd., Hyogwang Co., Ltd., and Utop Construction Co., Ltd.
A representative from the Gwangju Labor Office said, “Improving working methods and culture is the most essential value driving regional economic growth and labor welfare, and this also enhances corporate competitiveness and leads to job creation amid the spread of COVID-19. We hope that these excellent cases will be widely known so that many companies in our region can participate.”
